Bootstrapping a Blog Titled Bootstrap

The background behind launching this blog and the meaning of the title 'Bootstrap'

Introduction

As I launch this blog titled "Bootstrap," I'd like to share why I'm starting a blog at this particular moment, and why I chose the name "Bootstrap."

Why I Started This Blog

The Changes Brought by LLMs

In recent years, the importance of personal branding and information sharing has been growing. With the rise of LLMs (Large Language Models), I feel that the value of text has gained renewed attention.

I've attempted blogging in the past. However, even when ideas came to mind, I found it tedious to express them in coherent writing. But with the advent of LLMs, that cost has dramatically decreased. The process of turning ideas into text and refining them has become incomparably more efficient than before.

The Significance of Publishing Logs

Through various trial-and-error processes, I've developed a habit of keeping logs. I thought it would be worthwhile to publish them in blog form for others to see. I also hope that my learnings and experiences might be useful to someone.

The Meaning Behind the Title "Bootstrap"

The Origin of the Word Bootstrap

The English word "bootstrap" originally referred to the small leather loop attached to the heel of a boot. From there, it evolved into the idiom "pull oneself up by one's bootstraps," which came to mean overcoming a situation through one's own efforts without anyone's help. Today, it's used as a metaphor for all kinds of "self-starting"—from computer boot processes to launching a business with minimal resources.

The Habit of Trial and Error

Since childhood, I haven't been particularly good at consulting others or relying on people when facing problems. When confronted with an issue, I had a habit of first thinking "how would I solve this on my own?" This hasn't changed even as an adult, and thanks to that, I've developed a habit of trial-and-error and recording logs.

I want this blog to be a place where I share such trial-and-error processes and their results. The word "Bootstrap," which means starting something from scratch with your own efforts, perfectly expresses both this way of life and the blog's theme.

Building the Blog System

I built this blog system myself. Rather than using an existing platform, I created it from scratch using Next.js. In that sense, the name "Bootstrap" feels very appropriate.

Thoughts for Readers

I hope this blog can become a "bootstrap" for someone's life or career. If readers can find inspiration to start something new or gain hints to overcome challenges, there would be no greater joy.

Conclusion

Going forward, I plan to share not only technical topics but also daily learnings and thoughts. Thank you for reading.
